Git root mapping will be automatically set to the project root directory. If you want to create a project based on the sources you have cloned, click Yes in the confirmation dialog. If you are already logged in to the selected hosting service, completion will suggest the list of available repositories that you can clone.Ĭlick Clone. In the Get from Version Control dialog, specify the URL of the remote repository you want to clone or select one of the VCS hosting services on the left. If no project is currently open, click Get from VCS on the Welcome screen. If the version control integration is not enabled yet, from the main menu, select VCS | Get from Version Control.Īlternatively, from the main menu, select File | New | Project from Version Control. If the version control integration is already enabled, from the main menu, select Git | Clone. To start cloning a Git repository, do one of the following: IntelliJ IDEA allows you to check out (in Git terms, clone) an existing repository and create a new project based on the data you've downloaded. Check out a project from a remote host (git clone) If you need to manually configure IntelliJ IDEA to use Git from WSL, go to the Version Control | Git page of the IDE settings Control+Alt+S, click the Browse icon in the Path to Git executable field, and select Git from WSL via the \wsl$ path, for example, \\wsl$\debian\usr\bin\git. Also, IntelliJ IDEA automatically switches to Git from WSL for projects that are opened when you use the \\wsl$ path. If Git is not installed on Windows, IntelliJ IDEA searches for Git in WSL and uses it from there. IntelliJ IDEA supports Git from the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL2), which is available in Windows 10 version 2004. If the IDE can't locate a Git executable, it suggests downloading it. There doesn't seem to be the concept that like PHP you enable breakpoints on the browser and "listen" for the breakpoint information on the IDE.When you clone an existing Git repository or put an existing project under Git version control, IntelliJ IDEA automatically detects if Git is installed on your computer. Is it possible to set up so JavaScript breakpoints are like PHP breakpoints? Right now it seems like in order for the JavaScript breakpoints to be hit I need to run a specific configuration. But it will probably be a page reference by something like Hence the remote path is longer. If they are and the particular functionality involves JavaScript I want to break on the function where the breakpoint is set. The URL is set to http:/localhost/moodle26 because if I select this JavaScriptDebug configuration then it automatically brings the page at Then based on the user clicks pages in my plugin may or may not be invoked. It is these JavaScript functions that I would like to set a breakpoint in. These JavaScript functions will be called at various places in my plugin, to either load a PHP page or perform some kind of validation or management. In my plugin project I have a folder that physically resides in C:/wamp/apps/moodle26/mod/mediasite/js and all of the files there are JavaScript files. The Moodle application calls my plugin according to what the user selects but generally it is something like Where xxx is the PHP page path of the function that is being invoked. My project is a plugin to Moodle and as such it follows Moodle rules and resides in the physical directory C:/wamp/apps/moodle26/mod/mediasite. When I call the Moodle application I invoke it in the browser as (no index.php). I have attached a screenshot of the setup (earlier in the thread). They are for *Storm v6 and older, but it works nearly the same in v7.īTW - the above link has step-by-step instructions anyway (without pics though). please check "External Links:" section at the bottom of the page - it has links to articles/manuals (with pictures) with different javascript debug scenarios. Plus, what I do is shown on screenshot above anyway. I believe I've already answered this in one of the previous comments. Possibly it is not necessary for you.ĭo I need to set a URL for each of the. Always works for me (to debug HTML+JS pages). I'm entering it anyway - as you can clearly see from the screenshot. It says that the remote URL is "optional" How do I set the Remote URL? I tried right-clicking and left-clicking. I'm sure you can find the difference between Defaults section (check the aforementioned link to understand what it does) and other sections (actual configurations of different types) The link I gave in previous comment (added after original post) explains it all. You should use GREEN PLUS button to create your own configuration of required type.
